A fresh release is arriving soon under the Hoyo de Monterrey name, this time featuring a shade-grown wrapper leaf cultivated in Honduras—rather than the usual Connecticut or Ecuador-grown varieties. This new cigar, called Hoyo de Monterrey Shade, will be available at retailers starting June 2, offering a milder alternative within the lineup.
Produced in Danlí, Honduras, at the HATSA facility, the cigar is composed entirely of Honduran tobacco. In contrast to the richer profiles of previous lines like Rojo (medium-bodied) and Oscuro (full-bodied), this new addition brings a lighter, more approachable character, completing the trio.
Affordability is another highlight, with three sizes priced under $9: the Rothschild (4 1/2 x 50) at $5.99, Toro (6 x 52) at $7.49, and Gigante (6 x 60) at $8.49. Each size will be sold in 10-count boxes.
